Trying to read the Bible

On August 22, 2010, I made a decision that I will read the Bible from cover to cover. That day was also the same day that I was baptized.

However, the problem is that I wasn’t able to do what I intended to do. I was still a college student back then and the many projects, assignments, and other extracurricular activities just occupied most of my time.

As a result, as much as I want to read the Bible every day, I wasn’t able to do so.

Perhaps, you have experienced this before. You know the importance of reading the Bible, yet, you just can’t find the time to do it.

Year after year, you told yourself, “I’ll start reading the Bible at the start of the year.” “I’ll start reading the Bible once I graduate.” “I’ll start reading the Bible once I get married.” I’ll start reading the Bible once I get a job.”

The time you told yourself to read the Bible is just endless. Even if you have the desire to do so, you always find yourself doing something else.

I know how that feels. I have been there. I know the frustration. I know the disappointment. I know how discouraging it can be.

However, you don’t have to continue promising yourself and God that you will read His word and fail every time to follow through.

It’s time for you to make that decision and stick to it!

What this course can do for you

This is the main reason why I have created the Read Your Bible course.

The Read Your Bible course is not your ordinary and typical Christian course. It’s a course that will guide you through each day. The reading plan is already laid out for you. The course gives you structure in your reading.

I learned that you can effectively develop a habit when there’s already a pattern that you only need to follow.

What’s great about this course is you don’t have to wait until January 1. You can start any day of the week or year!

I have labeled each day with “Day 1”, “Day 2,” “Day 3,” and so on instead of labeling it with dates. (Although, I have also added the date for your guidance.) This allows you to start reading the Bible without waiting for any significant event.

Daily powerful reflections

The best thing about this course is that each day comes with deep and powerful reflections that you will surely enjoy reading. These reflections are not superficial or just feel-good reading. The reflections I have included will give you new insights into the Bible and learn how to live this life according to the Word of God!

Daily reflections cover a wide range of topics based on the verses you will read each day. Reflections would tackle topics such as

I understand reading the Bible from cover to cover is a huge task. It demands a great deal of motivation and commitment.

That’s why I highly recommend you don’t rely on your willpower. You need to rely on God’s willpower. You need to get your strength from Him.

Most importantly, you need to make reading a top priority. It means that you don’t let a day pass by without you reading the assigned verses.

This is the main reason I advise you to do your reading first thing in the morning. So that whatever happens during the day, you have already done your assigned reading.
